Large Sculpture
These works range from four to over twelve feet tall

The torsos above are five feet tall and display both front and back views. They are constructed of welded cold rolled steel. My intention is to exploit the texture and malleability of the medium to explore the dynamics of the human body. It is the abstraction of form that defines artistic possibilities.

My version of a contemporary 'Venus' in steel is concerned primarily of creating form that bends light and have it flow over the surface. I find that fascinating to my eye and extremely exciting visually. This torso is eight feet tall and extremely dramatic.

This torso is presently being cast in bronze. Four feet tall (without the base) it exibits the force of light playing over the surface to create the tensions necessary. All of these works can be cast in bronze which will in almost all cases require reworking the surface to ensure that the play of light over the surface conforms to my artistic concepts. Bronze and steel have quite different character when light illuminates them.

Another winged torso, here my 'Equestrian Rider', balances form and light to create an emotional statement. Seven feet tall it is a commanding presence..
